Record Groups where course material is presently being prepared.

American Records | |
The American Department is under the guidance of Beverly Rice. Retired now, Beverly was a professional genealogist, author, speaker and researcher. She was also a Certified Genealogist (CG) through the Board for Certification of Genealogists.
When discussing the records of the United States, resources for all states will be covered.
To receive your Certificate in Genealogical Studies-American Records you must successfully complete 28 Compulsory credits and 12 Elective credits. This includes 9 Compulsory courses at the Basic and Intermediate Levels and 10 compulsory courses at the Advanced Level.
Once you successfully complete all the requirements, you will be awarded the postnominals P.L.C.G.S. (Professional Learning Certificate in Genealogical Studies) |

Australian Records | |
The Australian Department is under the guidance of Kerry Farmer, BA, B.Sc.. She is a professional genealogist, author, speaker and researcher.
When discussing the records of Australia, resources for all states will be covered.
To receive your Certificate in Genealogical Studies-Australian Records you must successfully complete 25 Compulsory credits and 15 Elective credits. This includes 9 Compulsory courses at the Basic, Intermediate and 7 Compulsory courses at Advanced Levels. Two additional courses, one on Government Records and one on Land Records will evantually be added.

Canadian Records | |
Sharon Murphy, PLCGS is the director of the Canadian Department. She is a professional genealogist, researcher, author and lecturer.
When discussing the records of Canada, resources for all provinces and territories will be covered.
To receive your Certificate in Genealogical Studies-Canadian Records you must successfully complete 30 Compulsory credits and 10 Elective credits. This includes 9 Compulsory courses at the Basic and Intermediate Levels and 11 at the Advanced Level.
Once you successfully complete all the requirements, you will be awarded the postnominals P.L.C.G.S. (Professional Learning Certificate in Genealogical Studies)

The record courses for the English Department will naturally cover the records of England. When appropriate, the records of Wales will be included.

Brian Hutchison, BComm, CMA, FSA(Scot) is the leader of the Irish Department. He is a professional genealogist, author, speaker and researcher. He was also a Certified Genealogist (CG) through the Board for Certification of Genealogists.
The record courses for the Irish Department include the records of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland (Eire).
To receive your Certificate in Genealogical Studies-Irish Records you must successfully complete 28 Compulsory credits and 12 Elective credits. This includes 9 Compulsory courses at the Basic and Intermediate Levels and 10 at the Advanced Levels.

To receive your Certificate in Genealogical Studies-Librarianship you must successfully complete 10 Compulsory credits and 2 Elective credits. This program will be of benefit to those who have a basic understanding of genealogy and who are involved in the genealogical collection of their library. |

The Professional Development Certificate is under the guidance of Gena Philibert-Ortega, MA, MAR. She is a professional genealogist, author and speaker.
To receive your Professional Development Certificate you must successfully complete 32 compulsory courses and 8 elective courses. We are completing the final review of this certificate. There may be another 3 compulsory courses added. This would reduce the number of elective courses by the same number.
This program will benefit those who wish to pursue a career in genealogy, create a genealogy business or to augment their income potential by adding niche areas to their business plan. Skill-building courses are of high importance in this certificate to ensure quality results as a professional researcher. |
